Ayurveda in Muslim Period

The advent of Muslim rule in India in the 10th and 12th centuries A.D. significantly influenced Ayurveda. The Islamic medicine or the Unani system of medicine was introduced during that period. It was a combination of Islamic medicine and Greek medicine. It enjoyed the royal patronage of the Muslim rulers. During the period of Khiliji Dynasty and Tughluq Dynasty the Unani system of medicine got its official recognition.
