Tansen Music Festival is an event organized to pay tribute to the legendary Hindustani classical singer known as Tansen. It is held in Gwalior state, and is a crucial event among the people and Hindustani musicians of Gwalior. The name of the events has been kept in honour of Tansen and is held every year in the month of November and December at his tomb.

History of Tansen Music Festival
As the name suggests, the festival is named after the great musical genius- Tansen. Ramtanu Pandey, the name by which Tansen is also known as, was one of the maestros in classical music. It is renowned for his skills as a singer, composition and also popularized traditional instrument 'rebab'.

The festival is held for 4 days and puts the audience into a melodious trance. Tansen Music Festival is overwhelmed by the performances of some of the finest musicians belonging to the Gwalior Gharana.
